Debit card payments: If you paid for student accommodation using a debit card, it typically takes around seven days for the refund to reflect in your account.

Credit card payments:  For credit card payments, the refund usually appears on your next month’s statement.


Please note that these timelines are approximate and may vary based on the property management groups and the specific circumstances of your refund request. We understand that this turnaround time can be extended, and we apologize for any inconvenience. Your patience during this process is appreciated.

How to apply for a refund?

If you find yourself needing to apply for a refund for your student accommodation, follow these steps:

Raise A Ticket Through : To initiate a refund for your student housing deposit or another payment, you can raise a ticket through your bookmyuniroom. Com account or by sending an email at This streamlined process ensures that your request gets proper support and is documented.

Contact You Student Accommodation Booking Manager: If you’re already in conversation with you booking manager from don’t hesitate to contact them for assistance with you refund process. They are here to offer help and make the process smooth.

Deposit Payment Through : If you’ve made a deposit payment through for student accommodation and have cancelled your booking, the refund process begins once the property transfers the deposit to us. Please review the Property's  cancellation and deposit refund policy for detailed information. Some property management groups may have their specific protocols.

Cancellation Of A Student Housing Tenancy Agreement: If you’ve signed the tenancy agreement but need to cancel you booking , refer to the cancellation policy of the property you’ve booked with for specific details regarding your deposit refund.

Direct Deposit Payment To The Property: If you’ve directly paid the deposit to the property for student housing, please get in touch with the property owner directly to initiate your refund request with support.
