Leeds City College stands as the premier further education institution in the City of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, boasting a student body of approximately 26,000 learners and employing 2,300 staff members, with an impressive annual turnover of £78 million. Established officially on 1 April 2009, the College emerged from the consolidation of three prominent colleges: Park Lane College, Leeds Thomas Danby College, and Leeds College of Technology.
The institution underwent further expansion on 1 August 2011, with the integration of the three sites of Joseph Priestley College located in Rothwell, Beeston, and Morley. Simultaneously, it acquired ownership of a reconstituted Leeds College of Music, now known as Leeds Conservatoire, which operates semi-autonomously as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Leeds City College Group. Offering a diverse array of qualifications, including A Levels, BTECs, and vocational certifications, Leeds City College ensures industry-standard training in fields such as Health and Social Care, Food and Catering, and Hair and Beauty, among others.
In early 2019, the overarching entity, Leeds City College Group, underwent a rebranding to Luminate Education Group, reflecting its expanding portfolio of institutions.
